COMMENTARY
Anchorage Daily News

Imaging center alive and well, plans to continue that way.
Your article “Imaging firm awaits ruling: Is it physicians’ office?” printed April 25 in the
Mat-Su Valley section of the Daily News ran with misleading information and
without input or verification from our organization.
In particular, the article stated that Imaging Associates of Providence is
awaiting a decision that may result in closing “both centers within the next
six months.”
I have seen nothing that indicates this result nor this timeline and I believe it
is irresponsible to make such an arbitrary statement.
This statement caused unnecessary concern among our employees and their
families and contributes to unsettlement in the Wasilla, Palmer and
Anchorage business communities.
I would like to clarify that while it is not our intent to pull patients away from
the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center, it is our intent to offer patients and their
physicians a choice of high-quality outpatient radiology services that are
seldom seen in smaller communities.
Imaging Associates gives folks that choice without having to receive those
services in a more expensive hospital setting.
Our imaging centers in both Anchorage and Mat-Su are alive and well.
We plan to be a vibrant part of each community for a long time to come.
