Facts About the AlaskaCare Employee Health Plan Preferred Provider Change

If you’re a State of Alaska employee or otherwise covered by the AlaskaCare Employee Health Plan, you can rest assured that you still have a Providence choice when it comes to radiology services. Imaging Associates of Providence remains an AlaskaCare in-network provider.

• Imaging Associates of Providence is part of the Beech Street network, which administers the AlaskaCare Employee Health Plan.
• Patients covered by the AlaskaCare Employee Health Plan, including State of Alaska employees, can continue to obtain outpatient services at Imaging Associates of Providence with NO OUT-OF-NETWORK PENALTY.
• If you’ve had previous images taken at any Providence facility, IAP can access them through the Providence system.
• Your IAP images are read, as always, by the same radiologists who read them at Providence.

With the AlaskaCare Employee Health Plan change, several physicians have expressed concern regarding loss of continuity of imaging care...and now have discovered that sending patients to IAP is the perfect solution.

Utilizing IAP imaging services...

• Allows patients to be imaged within the Providence system with images interpreted by the same radiology group as before,
• Allows physicians continued 24/7 online access to patients’ images on the Synapse Radiology system, and
• Retains critical access to the prior studies such as comparison mammograms, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds and plain films.
