DIGITAL X-RAY

Imaging Associates of Providence offers patients a comfortable atmosphere and the latest in digital x-ray technology for increased clarity at minimal doses and reduced examination times. We feature the Siemens Multix Top x-ray system at both our South Anchorage and Mat-Su Trunk Road locations for easy, ergonomic, and patient-oriented sessions.

Speed & Quick Image Availability. Less than one minute after we have taken an exposure, we are able to view it on a tech monitor. This speed enables us to address four very important factors:

1. Patient safety — if the technologist sees an indication that he or she should not proceed, the exam is ended immediately;

2. Lower radiation dose to the patient — we can view any abnormalities that may normally cause repeat exposure and adjust accordingly;

3. Timely exam for the patient (less time for uncomfortable positioning and shorter exam time);

4. The exam is available for our radiologist within moments, which in turn means you get rapid results.

Patient comfort. The Multix Top is a ceiling-mounted solution, giving IAP technologists optimum table access, with adjustable table height to accommodate sitting, standing and recumbent patients. It makes routine exposures simple and fast. In addition, our table top is cushioned for patient comfort.

Excellent image quality at minimal dosage. The highly radiolucent tabletop and the extremely short tabletop-film distance contribute greatly to the quality of the images, with lower dosages needed.

Overexposure protection. Adhering to ALARA guidelines (as low as reasonably achievable), Automatic Cassette Size Sensoring (ACCS; i.e., automatic collimator) and the integrated automatic Exposure Control (IONTOMAT) protects your patients from overexposure due to preset levels of radiation and smaller paths in which radiation flows.
