Designed for Subtle Joint Injuries.
Contrast-enhanced MRI provides added joint detail to help reveal subtle injuries and guide confident treatment decisions.
MRI arthrography is a specialized MRI exam that uses contrast placed into a joint to provide added detail of cartilage, labrum, ligaments, and other joint structures that may not be visible on standard MRI.
- Enhanced Joint Detail
- Improves Detection of Subtle Injuries
MRI Arthrography may be helpful for people who:
Have unexplained joint pain
Have suspected labral or cartilage injury
Need more detail than standard MRI
Are planning treatment or surgery
Your provider can help determine whether MRI arthrography is appropriate based on your symptoms, prior imaging, and overall care plan.
What to Expect
- A contrast injection is placed into the joint before imaging
- The injection and MRI are usually completed in one visit
- Mild joint soreness afterward is common and temporary
